Biography
Since 2007, I am Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Economic Geography at the Department of Business Studies, Aalborg University, Denmark. I have a PhD in Innovation, Knowledge and Economic Dynamics (Aalborg University, 2004) and a MSc in Industrial Economics (Aalborg University, 1999) and was a Visiting Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, United States (2007).
My PhD thesis was awarded with the SparNord Foundation Research Award 2004 and I received the Tietgen Gold Medal Research Award 2005 for my post doctoral research and the Tuborg Foundation Business Research Award 2001 for my PhD research. Since 2007, I have been the PhD coordinator at the Department of Business Studies and, since 2006, member of the board of directors of the Danish Research Unit for Industrial Dynamics (DRUID). In relation to the latter, I am the main organizer behind the annual DRUID Winter PhD Conference, a conference open to all doctoral students in the broad field of economics of innovation.
